LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR
Queen Elizabeth II lives in London, UK, which is far from Ontario, and so, someone has to be in contact with the Queen and represent her position in Ontario, because of the history that Canada has of being a British subject. The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario is David Onley and he represents the queen of England. The Lieutenant Governor has a massive amount of power, for example no provincial bill cannot become law unless the Lieutenant Governor signs the bill, as known as royal assent. He is a very important person, who reminds us of our past and that's why he has a position in the executive branch of the provincial government.
